BOTOX
(Instant Face Lift)

 

What is BOTOX?
Botulinum Toxin type A (BOTOX) is produced bt the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum.

When is BOTOX Indicated?
BOTOX is indicated to treat wrinkles of the upper face, including horizontal forehead creases, crow's feet and the vertical creases between the eyebrows. Never uses includes to elevate the eyebrow, and to decrease horizontal neck creases, and anterior vertical neck banding.

BOTOX for Wrinkles?
Botulinum Toxic can be injected into specific muscles to temporarily relax them resulting in an inability to wrinkle the skin overlying the treated muscle. Botulinum Toxic is only helpful for dynamic wrinkles, also known as " Wrinkles in motion". It is not as effective on static wrinkles, " Wrinkles at rest ", bt prolonged use of botulinum toxic may help prevent wrinkles in motion from becoming wrinkles at rest.

Are the Injections Painful?
The tiny needle used to administer BOTOX is far smaller than the needle used to dram blood from the arm for routine blood tests. Usually only several seconds of discomfort occur. The areas are pretreated with an ice pack to minimize sensation.

How long does BOTOX procedure take?
The entire visit including paperwork, will take about 30 minutes.

Is BOTOX Permanent?
BOTOX temporary relaxes the muscle, allowing the patient to appreciate its value and to decide if they want another injection in 3-6 months. Usually, e\with subsequent injections, the injections become spaced further apart.

What are side effects of BOTOX?
All side effects are minor and not long lasting. Most common side effect are minor local swelling, discomfort during injection, or headache. Other effects sometimes seen include a rush, or localized numbness. Some people experience a rare side effect such as mild bruising, or and even rare side effect such as slight temporary drooping of eyelids.
