October 07, 2007 - Baby Show 2007

To inculcate confidence amongst the children so that they can perform as per their capabilities, the Chawla Nursing Home and Maternity Hospital has been organising Baby Shows for the last 17 years. The 18th Baby Show-2007 was held at Red Cross Bhawan in Jalandhar, today.

Registrar of PTU, Mrs. Sarojini Gautam Sharda was the Chief Guest and Dr. Surinder Kaur and Dr. P.S. Bakhshi were Guest of Honours of the show.

Mrs. Sharda during her address, besides acclaiming Dr. Sushma Chawla of the Chawla Nursing Home and Maternity Hospital for providing a platform to children to perform to show how good they are, She said that the Baby Show brings healthy and intelligent children forward who would be the future of the society. She said that those kids and their parents who did not get any prize should not loose heart but to prepare their children for future such shows.

There were six categories of age group for the children who can come and perform on the stage individually and for those who can please the audience with their parents. A special photo competition was for those kids who were between 0 to 1 year category.

Amongst the photo competition category Kashika, Saesha Ahuja and Mishthi stood first, second and third, respectively.

In Mother and Baby Photo category, Guransh Singh, Kashish and Simrat were adjudged First, Second and Third, respectively. In Father, Mother and Baby Photo Competition, Bhavin, Krishna and Kashish Verma bagged First, Second and Third prizes, respectively.

In age group from 1 year to 1 ½ year , Ravgun Kaur Sachdeva, Astha Bhalla and Shivmoli Mehta were adjudged first, second and third, respectively and the two consolation prizes went to Gaurish Mago and Samya Bhargav.

In 1 ½ to 2 year category, Shyla, Atiksh Suri and Arnav Mahajan stood first, second and third, respectively whereas two consolation prizes went to Kashvi Kapoor and Pahaljot Singh.

Manya Dhir, Piyush Malik and Prashant Sharma were adjudged First, Second and Third in 2 to 2 ½ years category and the consolation prize went to Suhani Bhalla and Ruhani.

In 2 ½ to 3 years category, first three positions were bagged by Anandni Khurana, Sanvi Chopra and Bhoomi Dutta in this order and consolation prizes went to Krish Sareen and Jiya Wadhwa.

Gunishka Bindra, Kananpreet Kaur and Tejvir Singh remained First, Second and Third respectively in 3 to 4 years category and consolation prizes went to Harroop Singh and Jhanvi Gautam.

In the last category of 4 to 5 years, Bhavleen, Sidak and Aseem Arora were adjudged the First, Second and Third respectively and Rushali Popli and Taniksha were given consolation prizes.

The performance of all the more than 150 participants were spell bounding forcing the audience consisting of mostly parents to clap for them. Earlier, Mrs. Sarojini Sharda, Dr. Surinder Kaur, Dr. P.S. Bakhsi, Dr. Sushma Chawla and some judges along with other staff of the hospital lighted the lamp to formally inaugurate the show and also released balloons and two pigeons as Symbol of Peace.

All the winners were adjudged by 17 judges, mostly amongst them were doctors besides a Photo Journalist, Mr. Rahul Joshi.
